World Migratory Bird Day

BIRDS CONNECT OUR WORLD
The Niagara Region is host to year round migrations of birds and other wildlife including fish and insects. Our critical location in the Great Lakes of the United States makes us a unique biodiverse area that both depends upon and supports birds and other migrating animals that connect us with Central and South America (including the Amazon Basin, the boreal forests of the Pacific Northwest, and the arctic.
As we celebrate World Migratory Bird Day in the United States and Canada, May 9, 2020, we are in the midst of a great neotropical migration north that includes warblers, swallows and other critical birds that need to be protected.
